Covid has changed so much. I feel like that is something we can all agree on. When covid began, I was a SAHM to 4 kiddos. Throughout the last couple of years, the kids have gotten a little older, and a little more independent, which has opened my schedule up to working more.
Having had the taste of independence working from home with my blog and freelance writing, I knew that I wanted to continue staying at home. As a result of covid, many more businesses have offered remote work even after most employees were sent back to the office.
There are many benefits of working remotely! Check out these 5 benefits of working at home.
Better Morale
Workplace morale goes up when employees are empowered to work in a way that suits them better. Not everyone is comfortable in an office environment. Whether it’s a weakened immune system, anxiety, or something else, some people are happier and more productive at home.
Bye Bye Commute
Depending on where you live, your work commute could be a huge time sucker. Say bye-bye to your commute when you become a remote worker. You will have more time in your day and a lot less stress when you’re not stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Save Money
This is a big one! As an employee, you can save money by staying home. You will spend less on work attire, meals at restaurants, gas, and car maintenance.
I think it’s fair to say, we all get a bit nervous when we pull into the gas station to fill up these days. You can definitely save by eliminating your commute. By budgeting your gas, you can take the money that you would normally spend on gas driving to work and move it into a savings account or vacation fund. If you need help creating that budget, use a gas budget calculator to simplify things.
Freedom & Flexibility
This is a big one for me! I have such a desire for freedom and flexibility. Being able to work from home has allowed me to be financially independent, do work that I love, AND have the flexibility to do it from anywhere. If I decide to go visit my family in another state, I can work from there.

Work/Life Balance
The dreaded work/life balance. This can be such a tough balance to find, especially for parents. When you work from home, you feel more in control of your life. You can see your family and spend more time doing things you enjoy because you aren’t commuting.
Remote Work is Here to Stay
I truly believe that remote work is here to stay. In fact, it’s predicted that 22% of Americans will be working remotely by the year 2025. This is an 87% increase from pre-pandemic levels.
There are so many benefits to remote work and while it isn’t for everyone, it’s an amazing opportunity for millions of people around the world. Even if some employers don’t allow it, some will incorporate a hybrid schedule which can be super beneficial as well.
