Diet

Your diet should be as balanced and healthy as possible. Nowadays, many of us are guilty of eating too much junk food. This tends to be devoid of nutrients and often contains excessive salt, sugar or saturated fats. The key to a healthy diet is organisation. Make sure to plan your meals in advance. This can help to make sure you have all the ingredients in to make healthy meals, packed lunches and snacks rather than opting for convenience foods.   • Active men aged 14 to 30 – 2800 to 3200 calories

  • Active adults over 30 – 2000 to 3000 calories
  • Sedentary adults over 30 – 1600 to 2400 calories

Exercise

Exercise is also important. It’s recommended that the average adult gets roughly one hundred and fifty minutes of moderate aerobic exercise a week. If you opt for vigorous aerobic exercise, this recommendation drops to seventy five minutes a week. To help yourself reach these targets, focus on finding forms of exercise you enjoy. This will make it easier for you. From the gym to swimming, cycling, dance, team sports and more, you’re bound to find something you like.
