I know so many women (and men) have big goals. When the new year rolls in, you get excited and motivated to make big changes in your life. You make these “resolutions” and by week 2, you’re over it.
I want to help you crush your goals this year. Here are a few tips that will help you along the way to reach your next big (or small) goal!
What Do You Want?
Know what you want. That seems pretty obvious, but if you don’t know what exactly it is you want to accomplish, how will you stay accountable and know when you actually reach that goal. Write it down.
Know how you will accomplish this goal. Maybe you have a goal to buy a new house and the whole process is very intimidating. You need to write down the steps you can take to make this dream a reality.
Find tools and resources that you can utilize to accomplish your goal. For example, you find your dream home but have no idea whether you can afford it. Using a tool like a mortgage calculator, you can find out the minimum down payment you can make to make that house yours!
While we’re on the topic of gathering resources, you also want to make sure that you’re educated. If you want to start the keto diet, don’t just start eating differently. Educate yourself to see if it’s good for you or talk to your doctor to get his or her professional opinion.
Looking to start investing? You don’t want to just throw your money away. Make sure that you stay up to date on the latest investing news so you know what’s going on in different markets.
Educating yourself gives you the confidence to make informed decisions.
Know Your Why
Know why you’re doing it. For me, one of my goals is to live a healthier life. Why do I want to get even healthier? For starters, my anxiety levels go down. I also have family histories of high blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, and so on. I know I have to be proactive with my health now. That’s a pretty strong why for me!
Change Your Thoughts
For example, if you want to get healthier but you always think of fitness and nutrition as a punishment, you will never stick with it. Instead, be grateful that you can move. Love and nourish your body. If I want to feel motivated to workout, I need to think that it’s fun.
Want to make more money, but you’ve always believed that money was bad or hard to come by? You need to work on your money mindset so you can attract and create the income you desire.
Find an accountability partner or coach. I’m not just saying this because this is my specialty. Having someone hold you accountable can help you reach your goals. Maybe you need someone to call you out or empower you. There’s no reason to do this alone.
