The U.S. is full of lots of cool towns and cities. One of my favorites would have to be Chicago. Aside from the fact that I’m obsessed with the musical, the city itself has such a rich history and really cool spots to visit. Check out all you need to know about Chicago, including a tip if you’re ready to move to the windy city.
Must-Visit Restaurants
First things first, if you know me, you know I love food. One of my favorite places about visiting a new city or town is finding the best places to eat. Bonus points if it’s a hole in the wall spot.
Chicago definitely has its share of cool eats and breweries. Love Asian cuisine? Check out Lost Lake. They also have fantastic tropical cocktails. Corridor Brewery is the perfect spot for great beer, yummy burgers, and awesome cheese curds.
Craving pizza? Spacca Napoli has incredible wood-fired Neapolitan style pizza. Who’s hungry now?
Do All the Touristy Things
Whether you’re a tourist or a resident, a lot of the “tourism” things never get old. Between the art galleries, museums, parks, and more, you could spend every weekend exploring the city.
The Art Institute of Chicago is a must when in Chicago. You’ll get to experience the works of van Gogh, Picasso, Monet, and so many more. There’s also The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. MCA Chicago is home to a vast array of contemporary art and culture.
If you love learning about ancient cultures and scientific discoveries (yes, I’m a closet nerd), you will want to plan a day at the Field Museum.
Looking for the perfect tourist Instagram selfie? Check out The Bean in Millennial Park. Millennial Park offers the perfect mix of contemporary architecture and nature. There’s something to enjoy there year-round.
If you’re looking for entertainment, you will definitely find something for you. Need a laugh? (And who doesn’t?) Check out The Second City, @North, and Zanies. And if live music is your thing, check out venues like Reggies, SPACE, FitzGerald’s, or Constellation.
Obviously, you’ll never be at a loss for things to do whether you’re visiting Chicago or live here.
