Being a work at home mom can be tough! BUT, it’s 100% what I want to do. I actually told my husband that I will never go back to a 9 to 5, so that means I am hustling. Having a successful morning routine is vital to keeping organized and somewhat sane so I can grow my businesses.
I’m sure you’ve heard people say, “start the day”. It’s a piece of advice that is universal. But, apart from eating breakfast, it can be hard to understand what it means. Let’s face it – there’s not a manual to waking up and getting ready. And, it isn’t as if you can get out of bed the wrong way. Well, that is unless you fall out rather than stand on two feet, which I have done a time or two.Mornings are precious and the few hours you get before life bubbles up should be respected. After all, the right routine can lead to a very successful day. To help you develop your morning plan, let’s take a look at four successful women for inspiration.
Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth Paltrow is synonymous with a healthy lifestyle, so much so that she has her own brand, GOOP. So, there is no one better to start with than this successful mompreneur. Her secret: she kicks off the day with a kick-ass work out session.
Normally, Paltrow’s lasts for two hours, but we don’t all have this sort of time to burn. So, anywhere between thirty and forty-five minutes is plenty. Another cool trick is to drink lukewarm water with a dash of lemon juice to boost the metabolism.
Arianna Huffington
The esteemed founder and editor-in-chief of the online publication bearing her name is a huge yoga fan. In fact, she credits the health benefits of yoga and meditation to her success. Well, sort of – she’s still a strong, driven woman who is intelligent and perceptive. But, by loosening up in the morning, it allows her to tackle the day as she means to go on. It’s all about setting intentions, according to the new-age media guru. Don’t worry if you lack the time because simply sitting in bed and practicing breathing works great too.
Kate Middleton
Otherwise known as the Duchess of Cambridge, she is the future queen to the throne of England. I think we can all agree that it doesn’t get more successful than this. Prince William’s wife, Katherine, still has everyday hacks up her sleeve, including vitamins. Apparently, they helped her to stay focused and alert when she was pregnant with Prince George. A doctor dispensing program probably wasn’t on her radar, but it should be on yours to ensure there are no mix-ups. Apart from this minor change, taking vitamins means you can have something in common with royalty so that basically makes you a princess, right? Basically.
Posh Spice
Flashback to my youth and love for the Spice Girls. Victoria Beckham is one of the most productive and, as a result, envied, women in the world. So, what’s her secret? Evidently, it’s time away from the kids. Yep, the parents that make others feel inadequate actually don’t dote on their kids morning till night.
In Posh’s case, she likes to have some “me” time by taking a shower and eating breakfast before the rest of the clan awake. It’s easy to see why this is important. Waking up to a wall of noise and chaos is bound to give off bad vibes. Doing it quietly is relaxing and encourages patience and clear thinking. Totally on my to-do list!

I wish I had 2 hours to workout in the mornings… I guess I could if I wanted to wake up at 4am 🙂 I’m trying to get up a little bit before my kids do; our mornings run a bit smoother if I’m at least showered and dressed before they get up.
I know right?! I’m trying to become more organized in the mornings because it helps so much!
Having kids and being a stay at home mom is tough with having a solid schedule. Ive tried the last year and have somewhat achieved what I need to do!
That’s awesome Jessica! It’s definitely work!
I have an awful morning routine! It consists of postponing getting out of bed as long as possible. Haha, hopefully that will change once I’m not longer pregnant, but for now, I just want to stay in bed.
Kat! I know the feeling. Get all the rest you can ❤️
I’m lucky to get a cup of coffee in before the baby wakes up, haha! I guess I should work on getting up earlier so I can do a bit more.
These kiddos love to wake up before me! I am going to work on putting in more effort this summer.
Great suggestions. Oh so helpful!.
Thanks Holly!

The Miracle Morning helped me see the importance of a morning routine and helped me shape it! I love the 45-60 minutes that I have to myself every morning before my daughter wakes up!
Amanda! I’ve heard that book is amazing. It’s on my list.
My morning routine is where I lack. But the water and lemon with a kick-ass workout will def. be my morning routine.
